However , Critical Manufacturing ’ s business journey has not been plain sailing . “ We founded the company in 2009 , with the backing of a major investor called Critical Software , hence our brand name ,” he recalls . “ As with many startups , the first few years were not easy and many of our plans did not materialize exactly as we ’ d hoped .
“ But then in 2011 , things started to pick up , with positive results and a growing operation in terms of revenue , people , and projects ,” he goes on . “ We ’ re proud to have achieved similarly great results ever since , having grown around 30-to-40-percent year-on-year over the last ten years or so .”
Diversified operations
Critical Manufacturing originally provided MES solutions to help companies on the journey of digital transformation in factories , but it has since successfully diversified into new markets . Francisco reflects : “ Once we gained
momentum in the manufacturing space , we then created a series of different modules , gradually entering the areas of automation , integrating equipment , and data analytics .
“ We ’ ve completed numerous acquisitions in recent years , gaining both reputation and customers along the way , as well as expanding geographically ,” he details . “ Today , we still have our semiconductor business , but we also have another three dedicated divisions : electronics , medical devices , and industrial equipment .
