By 2013 , the GreenLab , Kerakoll ’ s futuristic research center , officially opened its doors . It encompasses nine advanced green technology development labs , employs over 140 green building researchers , and houses more than 1500 pieces of lab equipment . Featuring cutting-edge technology , the GreenLab is the first building in Italy to have been designed and built exclusively using eco-friendly materials . In fact , the facility serves as an ecosystem in constant balance with the surrounding environment , producing its own energy , collecting and naturally filtering rainwater , and guaranteeing the highest levels of indoor air quality , thereby promoting well-being .
Beyond green innovation initiatives and geographical expansion , Kerakoll ’ s impressive growth has also been driven by a series of strategic acquisitions that have enhanced its products and services portfolio . The
company ’ s acquisitive journey began in 2017 with the purchase of Tilemaster Adhesives Ltd ( Tilemaster ), a leading British business prolific in the manufacturing and marketing of ceramic and natural stone laying systems . As a result , Tilemaster ’ s best-loved products will gradually be integrated into Kerakoll ’ s range , retaining the same quality and consistency , but with enhanced environmental friendliness and safety for installers and end-users . For example , in alignment with Kerakoll ’ s mission of building better places to live , these products will now contain a reduced amount of volatile organic compounds ( VOCs ). Moreover , Kerakoll ’ s green building rating will be included on the packaging of Tilemaster ’ s products , allowing the installer to see at a glance how environmentally friendly they are .
Then , in 2018 , Kerakoll finalized the acquisition of Cimentolit Industria e Comercio de Argamassas Ltd , a Brazilian company
