The new partnership project , titled “ I Believe in You ”, is designed to offer personalized support to young people facing challenges and setbacks , helping them to overcome obstacles and achieve their potential . This unique project offers young people expert support and guidance from the Centre , which will be enriched by NIS employees through mentoring and shadowing experiences . The project aims to utilize positive role models from NIS to share their career journeys , offer objective guidance and provide hope and inspiration to young people who are struggling to find the right path for them . The NIS apprentice team have also
undertaken significant community projects recently , underscoring the importance of passing this approach on to the next generation of talent . After being approached by Veterans Living History Museum

( VLHM ) volunteer Duncan Balderson to produce a portable shooting range , NIS assembled its teams of apprentices , giving them the opportunity to run a project from start to finish . Apprentices from all departments came together to liaise with the client , design , cost , procure materials , quality control and manufacture the shooting range .
Expanding capabilities
Commenting on the project , Duncan Balderson said : “ The professionalism shown by the project team was excellent . The DNA of NIS being passed on to the next generation is obvious for anyone to see . The enthusiasm to deliver went as far as them approaching a local material supplier explaining what they were doing and getting the material and laser cutting for free !”
The company ’ s approach to securing future talent and constantly improving efficiency and quality has seen it go from strength to strength . After overcoming a challenging period in 2020 NIS has tripled its turnover in the last three and half years . With the engineering team doubling over the last two years , the company is poised to fully capitalize on the increased demand for its products and services . In the coming year and a half there will also be a tranche of 40-50 recruits in the manufacturing division .
