“ The scale of investment is substantial for the local and national economy. We employ around 1500 people in the UK and Ireland, with around 800 based in Hull. Our investment at the Hull site is creating new, highly-skilled roles that will anchor well-paid employment in the city and wider region for decades.”
For Groupe Atlantic, investment in technology and facilities is also an investment in its people. These new facilities will support employees across the business, as well as local suppliers and contractors. The UKTC, delivered by principal contractor Henry Boot Construction, also secured over £ 2 million in seed funding from Humber Freeport, which recognized it as a strategically significant development for the region.
Alongside its mission to drive growth across the business and support local and regional economies, Groupe Atlantic’ s strategy is also underpinned by its marketdefining sustainability mission. In 2023, the business announced its investment in Clade Engineering Systems, extending its commercial heat pump capabilities and positioning the business as a leader in low-carbon commercial heating.
“ Bringing Clade within the Groupe Atlantic family substantially enhances our ability to serve customers transitioning away from fossil fuels in commercial and public buildings,” Jason asserts.
“ On the domestic side, we’ re investing £ 6.8 million into heat pump production, supported by £ 5.2 million of UK Government funding. The target is to create the capacity to produce 115,000 heat pumps and indoor controls at the Hull site annually by 2030.
