Today, the Group operates three manufacturing facilities across Gloucester and West Bromwich, following the strategic acquisition of Longwear Alloys in 2025. Together, the sites operate under aligned quality, environmental, and safety systems, ensuring operational consistency and highquality output across the organisation.
At the heart of the business remains Avon Metals, a long-established producer of aluminium foundry alloys and master alloys, supplying customers across the UK and international markets. In recent years, the Group has also invested heavily in expanding its capabilities in nickel, cobalt, and copper-based alloy production.
“ Together with Avon Specialty Metals, we recently invested £ 1.5 million into a new joint venture foundry focused on the production of high-quality nickel, cobalt and copper-based alloys,” Richard says.“ This investment significantly strengthens our position within the specialist and high-performance alloy sector.”
The Group operates to internationally recognised standards and approvals, including AS9100 aerospace accreditation, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001, while Avon Metals also holds the prestigious Rolls-Royce approval.
Supporting the circular economy
According to Steven, Avon Specialty Metals was created to address an increasing market demand for specialist recycling, revert management, and the responsible recovery of high-value exotic metals.
“ Avon Specialty Metals was born from the need for a more technically focused and sustainable approach to exotic metals and superalloy recycling,” Steven confirms.
