In the cables market, something is hiding in plain sight.“ Copper prices have placed manufacturers under sustained pressure. The commodity environment is tough; margins are squeezed, and you are seeing a quiet erosion of standards across the market. People are cutting corners to survive, and buyers rarely know it.”

For Brent Collins, Managing Director at AMC, that observation is not abstract- it is the lens through which he runs the business.
Founded in 1964 and based in Manchester, AMC manufactures cables, as well as being the official UK distributor of electric components for globally recognized brands.
When Brent took on the role in 2021, he focused on building systems, securing certifications, and adding structure to the company’ s operations. Now, that phase is shifting into action, turning those investments into results.
That structure has sharpened AMC’ s position on something Brent feels strongly about. Falling standards are not treated as a market observation at AMC- they shape how the business is built and how it goes to market. Brent points directly to manufacturing as the place where quality is either controlled or compromised.“ I make that point first because it is the foundation of everything we do and everything that sets us apart. We are not a stockist. We are not a distributor. We convert raw copper into finished cable and supply it to more than 600 clients worldwide.” Keeping production in-house means AMC controls how each cable is made and how it performs across more than 8500 SKUs.
