have two exceptional mentors. The first was Edward‘ Ted’ Page, who founded Teescraft in 1981. Ted was an outstanding toolmaker whose craftsmanship was extraordinary. Watching him machine components was like watching a surgeon at work. His patience, attention to detail and willingness to teach shaped my early career.
“ The second was Cliff Laverick, whom I met during the management buyout. Cliff helped establish Ebac in the 1970s and became my business mentor. He guided us through implementing ISO 9001, investing in our first CNC machine and, perhaps most importantly, taught me one lesson I’ ve never forgotten:‘ turnover is vanity, profit is sanity, cash is king’. His advice continues to influence how we run the business today.
