From local sign company to national industry leader
Founded in 1910, Jones has grown from a local sign business into one of the nation’ s leading providers of branded environments, architectural solutions, and facility services. Today, Jones serves clients across retail, automotive, restaurants, hospitality, sports, financial services, and commercial construction. The company manages projects from concept development and engineering through manufacturing, installation, and long-term maintenance support.
Todd has witnessed much of that transformation firsthand.“ The company had already established a strong reputation when John Mortensen acquired it in 1982,” he shares.“ When I joined in 1996, annual revenue was about $ 3 million, but Jones now generates more than $ 150 million in revenue and employs over 550 people nationwide.”
Unlike many industry executives, Todd began his career outside the sign industry. His background in manufacturing operations and process management prior to Jones provided a foundation that helped support the company’ s expansion and operational growth.
A major turning point came at the start of the new millennium, when Jones began serving clients nationwide.“ In 2000, we began operating nationwide, and Home Depot became our first national account,” Todd says.“ The following year, we launched our Projects and Architectural divisions, which opened the door to larger and more complex opportunities. That growth continued to accelerate from there.”
