including the Viking, Warthog, Challenger 2, Bulldog, Trojan, Titan, and Warrior armored fighting vehicles. Its protection technologies have also been deployed on French Army vehicles, such as the VBCI Nexter and Aravis, as well as British Army Foxhound patrol vehicles.
The company’ s protection solutions, however, don’ t stop at armor. Permali’ s BattleJacket ® Fuel Tank Protection is an advanced spray-on polymer technology designed to immediately seal and heal a punctured fuel tank following ballistic impact, helping prevent fuel loss and reducing the risk of explosion.
For operations in hot, dry environments, Permali’ s modular dust-skirt systems provide another layer of protection. Manufactured from a tough, fire-retardant synthetic rubber composite, the retrofittable systems help reduce abrasive dust entering vehicle engines whilst reducing radar and visual signatures. Permali also manufactures
Permaglass ® spall liner grades incorporating fire-retardant additives, additional insulation materials and Tufshield ® TM elastomeric PU coatings to provide durable, chemical-resistant exposed surfaces.
With a robust portfolio of proven technology, Permali had established a reputation for high-performance composite ballistic protection and rapid responses to Urgent Operational Requirements( UORs). By 2009, the company’ s solutions were deployed on numerous British platforms operating in Iraq and Afghanistan, including land vehicles and RAF Chinook HC2 helicopters. Permali also worked with AgustaWestland, now Leonardo Helicopters, to rapidly develop a lightweight ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene composite material, pressed at very high pressure before being waterjet cut and assembled inhouse. The result was a lightweight ballistic protection suite delivered in record time to support the Merlin’ s initial deployment.
