Air Systems changing hands between multiple firms or entities, which can cause delays or cost issues. We own the model and we design it with the trades in mind, meaning we avoid a situation where someone finishes a portion of the design and it clashes with another.
“ It also helps that we’ re building in a manufacturing environment, applying advanced manufacturing principles. We have automation, robotics, and a controlled environment where the elements aren’ t slowing down a project. When it gets on site, we put the modules together like Lego bricks, so things go together a whole lot quicker. Fabrication and site work also run simultaneously, so as we’ re manufacturing a large chunk of the project, the rest of it is being built on-site in parallel.”
The company’ s vertical integration also underpins its approach to quality.“ We’ re focused on providing a total solution based on how we proposed it to our client,” Bill states.“ When multiple entities are doing something, you have to police what’ s being done to ensure specifications and quality standards are met. Working in-house allows a seamless transition from one scope to the next because we perform all disciplines.”
As demand continues to rise, particularly from data center and pharmaceutical clients, EAS is investing in its capabilities and expanding manufacturing. The company has invested significantly to lease and retrofit a site in Asheboro, North Carolina, for instance.“ We initially leased the facility for storage and warehousing, so we were fortunate to have it already in hand when we needed it as we could move quickly toward capacity expansion,” Bill elaborates.“ Essentially, we’ ve had to retrofit every facility we’ ve ever opened, so we’ ve got a lot of experience with those upfits.
