orphan drugs, and clinical trial material. And since Baccinex gave Adragos a fill-finish operation, a large percentage of investment is going into sterile capacity – adding to the company’ s lyophilization expertise. The Norwegian site adds one of Northern Europe’ s biggest sterile manufacturing facilities and, together, the two acquisitions broadened a network that already filled ampoules, vials, prefilled syringes, and bottled liquids.
Adragos’ organic investment is even easier to measure: it has spent € 13 million on a new ampoule filling line in France, lifting capacity by 30 percent and taking the site past 160 million ampoules a year; a € 4 million liquid filling project in Leipzig raised capacity nearly tenfold, to as many as 13 million bottles annually; and, in Japan, the company plans to scale tablet production to two billion tablets. Although these sums are small next to the acquisitions, each project targets a specific format rather than adding general floor space, which gives Adragos clear capacity to offer customers by product type.
When it comes to sterile work, regulatory standing is equally as important as capacity. The Swiss upgrade focused on advanced restricted access barrier system( RABS) technology and extensive validation work, in line with EU GMP Annex 1 – the framework governing sterile manufacturing in Europe. Swissmedic approved the upgraded Beta Line sterile suite in 2026, and Adragos highlights it passed multiple customer audits during the program without interrupting production.
At Maisons-Alfort, the site pairs highspeed aseptic filling and freeze-drying with integrated packaging, plus clean-in-place and sterilize-in-place( CIP / SIP) systems alongside RABS. Across the network, the company states that it follows FDA, EMA, and Japan’ s PMDA standards. The network also covers both ends of the development cycle, with the Jura facility running small clinical
