shipbuilding industry. In the early 1900s, the company also started building its own steam-powered machines, as the equipment available at that time was not adequately efficient. This approach has been maintained to the current day, with innovation sitting at the heart of the company. Over the course of the twentieth century the business evolved to focus on producing highquality parts, transitioning towards the automotive and later aviation industries.
