and interest groups, its products are designed, or can be adapted, to cater to a wide range of disability requirements, making inclusivity a genuine part of the design process rather than an afterthought.
A recent example of Vekoma’ s creative ambition in action is Valkyrie, a brand-new attraction developed in collaboration with Parc Festyland. The park’ s most ambitious project to date, Valkyrie is a brand‐new roller coaster that draws on Norse mythology for its inspiration, specifically the legendary Valkyries, the divine warrior maidens of Viking lore said to guide fallen heroes to Valhalla. Valkyrie is a custom family boomerang coaster designed to combine thrilling sensations with broad family appeal. Launching from the heart of Parc Festyland’ s Viking Area, the ride travels along 460 meters of track, reaching heights of 27 meters and speeds of over 65 kilometers per hour. Crucially, riders experience the full course twice, once forward and once backwards, adding a layer of excitement. With a capacity of 20 passengers per train, Valkyrie offers a smooth yet dynamic ride experience, weaving through the park landscape and soaring above walkways. The attraction blends modern coaster engineering with immersive theming, representing Festyland’ s commitment to storytelling, quality and long‐term development.
Through its commitment to quality, safety and long-term partnership, Vekoma has earned a strong reputation across the industry, one that recently led to a significant and exciting new collaboration. In May 2026, Vekoma and PortAventura World, one of Europe’ s most popular and well-regarded entertainment resorts, announced the creation of WeRiseUp, a new independent company spun off from Adventure Labs, PortAventura World’ s digital innovation unit, with the purpose of creating mixed reality experiences. The new venture marks a significant evolution for both organizations,
