HyProMag
are proud to be the first UK magnet manufacturer in over 20 years, taking end of life Neodymium Iron Boron( NdFeB) magnets and recycling them through their highly energy efficient and patented Hydrogen Processing of Magnet Scrap( HPMS) technology.
Founded in 2018 by leading experts in magnetic materials from both industry and academia, HyProMag takes The University of Birmingham’ s patented technology which uses hydrogen to return magnets from embedded components to powder, demagnetising them at the same time.
This short loop recycling process is significantly more environmentally friendly than primary mined material or the traditional recycling processes, using chemical processing or solvent extraction. Liberated powder is sieved, jet milled and then aligned, pressed and sintered. The resulting blocks can then be machined to customers’ finished sizes.
The first commercial facility is located in Birmingham UK, with a second facility close to opening in Pforzheim, Germany and a third due to open in 2027 in the USA.
